Signature Design - Step by step
The Signature Design Package is designed to take all of the hassle away from you starting with the ideas development, decision making through the renovation, procurement and installation.
I will take you through the steps and explain what they actually mean for you with whilst jargon busting those interior design terms.
Consultation and site survey – the bit where you pass your problems to me.
This is a personal process, so I have to get to know you and understand what it is you want to achieve, which could be many things: more functional space, more spacious space! A more stylish, bright, cosy area for you to relax, socialise or work out! Everyone is different, everyone has different needs, wants, likes, dislikes. So this part is really important. Once you have given me your time for this part, the rest is easy. We don’t always need to go in-depth as this either – if it’s a second home or a business and you just trust me to get on with the job, then that’s what I will do. The main thing is, you pass all of your interior problems to me to solve during this consultation. I take it from here.
The site survey is me taking all of the measurements and important information, to make sure your new furniture fits and I can start the drawings for any changes we are making.
Design concept and Mood board – the bit where I come up with ideas and start to solve your interiors problems.
This is where I form the initial concepts for the design and come up with all the ideas so you don’t have to. I look at all the problems I need to solve and start drafting solutions. I present them to you as an initial concept with inspiration photos, along with mood boards indicating colours, styles, textures, materials etc. that will feature. We touch base at this point to make sure I am on the right track and that I have understood the brief. I take on board any feedback. Once you have approved this, I will be on my way to the next stages.
Design documentation – the bit where you see the vision come together in front of your eyes.
This is the stage where I really bring your designs to life through all of the drawings and visuals. If you struggle to see how the project will look by visualising it in your mind, then this is where having an interior designer can help.
If you’re not sure how the furniture will look, or if you should knock through those walls and extend – this is where it will help you make those decisions before investing.
Sourcing and procurement (shopping and buying) – the painstaking part that takes forever, which is passed to me.
How many hours would you spend looking for tiles, for sofas, and then making sure it all works together? I do all of this agonising process for you. I create a full list and you can see exactly what it will cost before committing. I do all of the searching online, visiting all of the shops, dealing with the salesmen and women, and discussing all of the details. If you’re having bespoke items made – I sort that too!
If you had a full list of goods to buy and then you had to go and buy it all and arrange the deliveries, the returns, the installation – would you get it done that same day you confirmed the final shopping list? Probably not. But I do, it gets done, it gets ordered and your project gets completed without any hassle whatsoever for you.
Scope of works and installation – the part everyone dreads the most, dealing with tradesmen, except me, I love it, and they love dealing with me too.
Now that you know what the design is, it’s time to source the tradesmen to do it. Do you have time during your work schedule to call every trade needed to get prices, explain the jobs, coordinate it all to work together, explain colours, finishes, materials? Most people don’t and if they do, they hate it! I do all of that for you! I have my little black book of reliable contacts if you don’t know any either. You deal with me, I deal with the trades. Your project gets completed – easy as that.
